While at Penland School of Craft in the mountains of North Carolina, I had the opportunity to learn a technique called pressure printing. I chose to focus on women that I admire, and Iris Apfel is certainly one of them. Her flamboyant style is undeniable, only to be matched by her savvy business sense. If you haven't seen the documentary, Iris, it is a must see! Three different layers of Iris' face were cut out and then stacked and printed on a Vandercook press to achieve the dimension. This print measures 10" x 13".
